iTunes, shmiTunes
I realize this may come as a shock to many people but independent music stores still exist in 2009. And I mean actual physical stores, not internet services. Hopefully you’re like me in the sense that you like to support your local artists and musicians, but I say we should all support our local record stores as well. Think You’re Anti-Mainstream?
It’s occurred to me that there really isn’t such a thing because anti-mainstream is no less mainstream than…. well, mainstream. There’s this train of thought to immediately dismiss a band or artist simply because they’re popular. For some reason, it’s not just “cool” to do that, it’s somehow infallible logic to many.
What Do We Know?

If you haven’t noticed, I’ve written quite a few posts on bands that either have really harsh vocals or no vocals at all. This got me thinking and gave me the inspiration for our next featured post. I’ve put together a list of singers with the strongest voices in today’s rock.
The Dirty Dirtty South
You may think (just like me) that down south hip hop has killed the foundations and quality of hip hop today. And though you’re not far from being right, there are artists that have stepped up to the plate to produce and write quality music to strengthen the genre.
The Real Guitar Heroes
I’ve heard far too many conversations about ‘great’ guitarists that seemed to exclude the obvious choices. Well here’s my chance to list a few of the great guitar players that I feel aren’t referenced enough by the common listener, and this time I’m armed with audio clips.
